Mahem in the background
Jan. 10th, 2015 03:41 pmThe rabble is rising outside. I am glad that it's cold enough to keep the door closed tight. My neighbors (NO photo today, wounds are still fresh) are cooking out and have a few friends over. Looks like fun but they are mostly inside so hard to see.
I've spent most of the afternoon trying to noodle out a side yarn project. I like, these days, to have something going besides the bears. A Between the Bears Project. My first choice is a crochet something. I spent a LOOOOONG time winding through Ravelry patterns. And I stared a couple of things that got abandoned. I've actually abandoned quite a bit recently but heck, why not.
I had a friend once who did woodworking and it always just messed with his brain that I could knit and knit and knit and then rip it all out and knit something entirely different. Once he cut his wood, he was dead in the water.
But, I think I'm on to something now. Crochet and a nice little project - one that is easy to pick up and put down, interesting, useful (an afghan) but not to hot to work on (big squares)... We shall see. We could always rip this out, too!
Swimming was very good especially for a Saturday which tends to get crowded with non swimmers but today they stayed away and I got my whole mile in plus some fun visits with friends. And, my anxiety about getting home before the crowds was totally unfounded. I could have easily gone to brunch or the grocery or anywhere but, with Seahawkians it's way better to be safe than sorry.
Maybe I'll go out to brunch tomorrow.
