this and that
Sep. 1st, 2005 09:49 amWarning: Condo makeover whining. The shelf guy said last week he'd be working Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. I sent Sheri a note to let her know that he was not there yesterday. She sent me a note this morning saying that she'd look into it NEXT Tuesday and 'light a fire under his butt'. Glad to hear that she has a plan sorry that her schedule seems to be as 'whenever' as his.
Neither of them seems to be at all concerned with this ever actually being finished. He delivered the first set of partially finished shelves on July 5. Current promise du jour is that they 'should be finished' at the end of next week.
Sure seems like to me that building shelves and installing them should not take more than 12 weeks - unless you were building them with toothpicks or Popsicle sticks. It's sure pissing me off.
Thank you.
Also this weekend is tech time. I'm going to get on the phone with Microsoft and get the printer installed on the desktop. Failing that, I'm going to reinstall/repair windows. I think that's going to have to be Saturday's job since I need a couple of days to recover if it everything totally fucks up. I think I'm going to use the basic guidelines from this article (pop up city, sorry - it's an article about how to reinstall without losing data).
My one concern is product key. I have one XP CD that is in a notebook. I have XP CD folder that has a product key on it. But, when I use the little product key finding tool to check the one on my machine, it shows a different product key. When I google to see about what you do when you have two different product keys all I get are pages and pages about basically how to do illegal installs.
Maybe the tech who can't get my printer installed when I call on Saturday can answer the product key question.
You know, it's one thing to pay an arm and a leg for dental care, but it's quite another to use them for a freakin' non-interest paying bank!! I assured her I wanted the money back. NOW.
I got the insurance through the Microsoft Alumni Association. The woman there gave me the name of someone to help track down the claim from the other end. Both the woman from the association and the helper woman got on the case immediately and sent me email that they were getting a fax of the claim, would see that it got to the insurance company and do what they could to get it escalated.
Nice.
rsc's journal to
feste_sylvain's. When I got there he was talking about his older cat who was getting really skinny like Jake and was only fed dry food (like Jake) and it turned out his cat had teeth issues. Jake eats the dry food. At least a little of it. But, last night I opened up a can of Friskies and he dove into that stuff like he hadn't eaten in years. Betty liked it too but she only ate about half of hers. No problem, Jake finished off hers, too and liked both plates clean as a whistle.
Guess we'll start screwing around with wet cat food now. I hate that. But, if you could have seen his little face when he saw that food...
