susandennisThis morning, for the first time this year, it was daylight when I came home from the pool just before 8 am. And, for the first time in many weeks, I am probably going to have lower the blinds here in the living room until the sun passes overhead. I'm not thrilled, but resigned. There is still some more winter to enjoy and Spring brings my baseball back but I will miss the cozy dark and cold.
I have an appointment tomorrow to get my nails done. I love having polished nails and manicured cuticles. But, I spend to much time in the water that regular every day polish is a waste of effort. It chips off after the first swim. Last week, one of the lifeguards went with a friend and got a gel manicure that looks amazing. She spends as much time in the water - teaching and swimming - as I do - maybe more - and after a week, her nails still look amazing. So... I'm going to give it a shot. Tomorrow after swimming.
Today, it's bear delivery and car fill up. And the house cleaner comes. I'm kind of waiting until the house cleaner shows up but I'm not sure why. She doesn't need me. I guess I'll go get it done so I can get back home and get the me part of my day started!

So much easier to get up in the morning if it's not pitch black outside!

Date: 2015-01-15 07:27 pm (UTC)Dark, gloomy days have never bothered me - even when it's pouring down rain. I rather enjoy them, in fact. I also abhor overhead lighting in any room that I am in - I am fortunate enough to have my own office space with a door, and I have lamps - never use my overheads. My nickname around here is "the Mole" - I'm not even kidding about that!
It's just that the first morning light helps a lot with the very painful task of getting up early. I am most definitely a night-owl and have never been a morning person anyway.
