susandennisToday's swim was as amazing and wonderful as yesterday's was frustrating. There is nothing better than the first swim with brand spanking new goggles. They will never fit as well, be as clear, or as air tight as they were this morning. And it was fabulous. A pair usually lasts me about 3 or 4 months and then I can have this morning again.
The house still stinks from that oven clean. I may well live with a dirty oven from now on. Seriously. The sliding glass doors to the outside were open all night and still, when I got back in from the pool this morning and opened the door, I could smell it. Ugh.
Some yahoo spent a good part of yesterday and the evening before, trying to get me to answer the phone and talk to him. I did once. And that was enough. He is calling my Google Voice number. My Google Voice is set up to send all Unknown Caller calls right to voice mail without ringing. Sadly, while it's set up to do that, it does not. So I just decline or hang up, which ever is easier. It's really annoying.
I may be getting a divorce from Discover. I've had and used a Discover card since they were first introduced in the mid-80's. In the past 20 years or so, it's been my main credit card and I've run all my recurring bills through it. They have always had such amazing customer service. But, in the past few years that amazing customer service has turned into marginally acceptable customer service and, more recently, the same as any credit card but accepted fewer places.
I do not pay credit card interest so all I care about is cash rewards and customer service that does not suck. I have an Amazon Visa card with Chase bank that, frankly, in many ways is now better for me than Discover. Juggling two different cards is a PIA but I think that's what I'll be doing for a while until one wins.
Even with this wimpy lilac color, my nails look amazing. I did a lot of research into how you get this stuff off to change colors or fix growth issues or just go commando and that part sounds like it may be the show stopper (extended waiting with your hands immobile) but, we'll see.
Today's big todo is calling Electrolx about the stove top. I'm glad to have a day with nothing else on tap and no one coming here to do something.

If I want to change colors, they put a ton of fingernail polish remover on a cotton ball, put the cotton ball on my fingernail, and then wrap each finger tip in strips of foil. They leave that on for about 2-3 min. and it comes right off. I would never try to do this at home just b/c I don't have the patience and they know how to get it done very quickly. Hope this encourages you to stick with the gel!
