I really don't watch a lot of movies and I rarely go to an actual movie theater. Today I went to a suburban multiplex of about, oh I don't know, 20 or 30 theaters. That may be an exaggeration but the movie was one elevator and 3 escalators from the car plus some walking. The actual theater was pretty small but the screen was HUGE. It was nearly scary big.

I saw Cake and it was well worth hauling my ass to the theater for. I was really sucked in from the first frame to the last and beyond. Jennifer Anniston dissolved into the main character who lives with chronic physical and emotional pain from a car wreck. The way she held her body was as important to the movie as any of the words or scenery. And, when it was over, I moved carefully out of the theater so as not to exacerbate her pain. It was wild.

I fell into the 5 Guys burger place next to the ticket window and soothed my movie troubled soul with a cheeseburger. D. Licious.

And then made it very slowly home in the beginnings of rush hour traffic.

We basically don't go to the theater anymore. The lag for DVD is now so short that we'd rather just wait. We went to see Rosewater to support Jon Stewart, but that's probably the only time in the past three years we've been inside a theater.

I want to see Cake, too! I know it's fashionable to make fun of Aniston, but I like her.

A few years ago she really amazed me in a film called The Good Girl. I want to see Cake but I'm waiting for Netflix. :)

That is an amazing recommendation!! There has been a lot of scuttlebutt that Jennifer Aniston should have been been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar!
