So ahead of my time...
Sep. 9th, 2005 05:05 pmOne of the two things that did not make it onto the shelves was my speech box from IBM. It's a box made to hold the pages of a speech. One of the guys I wrote speeches for always insisted on using one and was always losing his so this was my spare for him. I have to keep it.
The other thing was a framed mini-poster presented to me when I was a General Session Speaker at the Southwest Regional Conference of Women in Communications, Inc. The conference was all about Exploring Communications Frontiers.
I was just getting ready to toss this baby when I noticed on the back that I had taped a copy of the conference program. So I tossed the poster but kept the program.
It was a cool gig. They flew me to Houston. I looked today to remember what the title of my talk was. "Making the Internet Work for You". It was in March of 1996. Cool. I do remember that I had a large crowd and they asked really impressive questions.
However, maybe my answers weren't so good. I just looked them up and see that the Houston chapter doesn't even have a website and the website for the national organization is pretty lame. Oh well.
