The Mariners were doing their usual losing and it looked like they were only going to lose bigger and so I decided to go to the movie. I almost didn't but figured I needed the walk and that was the only way I was going to make myself do it. So I grabbed my movie knitting and headed out.

The movie I wanted to see Where Hope Grows was playing at my least favorite movie theater downtown. It's expensive and scuzzy. Today they wanted $10.75 for a fucking matinee! For that money, I want a non-sticky floor and comfortable seats that don't look like they were installed in 1965 - oh and a foot rest. I got none of that and the movie was unbelievably awful.

Turns out it was an evangelistic Christian message movie. It took me 15 minutes to realize it and then another 15 minutes to realize it was a terribly horrible not even close to subtle evangelistic Christian message movie that I could not sit through to the end so I left.

When I got down to the lobby, I stopped at the cashier's and asked for my money back and they gave it to me! I've walked out of movie's before but never has one been so bad in a theater so horrible at a price so expensive that I even considered a refund.

First for everything.

I walked home and the game was mercifully over so I got my exercise, and it cost me nothing. So win.

And the pickles are pickle-ing.

I never knew you could get your money back for walking out on a movie! That's good to know!

I've never "walked" out of a movie, but as a teenager in the early 1980s left a drive-in. The movie was "Mother's Day", a horror flick with a particularly brutal rape scene that I could not stomach, and did not feel that I should have to. Thank goodness my boyfriend at the time was a gentleman and couldn't get me out of there fast enough. I've never liked horror movies, and don't think I've watched one since. We also got our money back on the way out.
