I thought of another important piece of the LJ puzzle.

Back in the olden days, I kept a paper journal. At one point, I had several volumes in my apartment and a guy I had been dating for a couple of years found them and read them and read stuff that pissed him off so he told me he read them so he could also expressed how pissed off he was.

I stopped writing in journals at all. Immediately. But, I missed it but this time I decided that trying to keep journals private was an exercise in futility and a point of failure. So no more. I would write for all the world to see.

Live Journal.

And... another bit that came to me in my swim is that my previous entry might not have conveyed the value, to me, of the people who share themselves with me in my journal. My life is infinitely richer because of the people I have met via Live Journal.

I know what you mean about that. I've had LJ friends in the past that I didn't think I was that attached to until they dropped me, and I realized I missed reading about them.

I was never able to keep a private journal. As soon as I start keeping one online, I was able to do it. Even when there were just one or two people reading it, that made a difference.

I think a guy who has the nerve to read your private journal does not have the right to complain to you.
