I pride myself on being able to sleep nearly anywhere anytime under any circumstances regardless of light or noise. I'm not a good napper but I can get a night's sleep no problembo. Unless, as it turns out, there is the noise of a leaf blower in the room. I slept but not soundly or peacefully. I rarely remember my dreams. I remember those of last night and they aren't pretty.
Tonight I'm turning that damn thing off for sleeping. It can run while I'm at work but that's it. (Guess I'm glad I don't have that telecommute job yet.)
jimcarson's idea of adding blinking lights to the yellow pipe sculpture is a good one. I hope it's gone, however, before I can get someplace to buy lights.
It could all be so much worse. I need to just shut up about it and I will.
Mom's Visa account is no longer available online which is good. It means they really did cancel it and it means that I was able to now put her Master card into that spot so she (and I) can track that. I just hope she doesn't use the Visa card number for any online shopping.
Bless her heart, she really is missing some major marbles. For several years now, if she stopped and focused and concentrated, she could noodle stuff out fairly well. She's lost a lot of that. The good news is that she knows to ask me if there is a question or a problem with anything financial. And I am set up on all of her accounts to handle it. And we've set up most stuff so that she does not have to pay for it anyway - it's either billed and paid for automatically or I pay it out of her accounts.
And probably the biggest blessing is that she is unaware of the marbles she has lost. Two years ago she would have been very embarrassed at losing a credit card. Yesterday, she wasn't embarrassed at all. So at least she's spared that.
This is a picture I snapped with my phone yesterday walking from my desk to the bus. It is really a beautiful time of year here.

Date: 2005-10-04 03:59 pm (UTC)I have Sprint service and pay $5 a month extra to get their web service.
I bought a 3rd party email program (SnapperMail) and a 3rd party MP3 program (PocketTunes). I bought a 1MG SD card for storing tunes and photos. And some 2 for 1 headphones. So it's not just the phone...
It is very easy to use. I check my mail on it (particularly good when out and and about, on the bus, etc.), I use it for calling (I don't have long distance on my landline or even a decent handset so I use the Treo really for my main phone). I play games on it while standing in lines. I listen to NPR via PocketTunes streaming from the web. I listen to Mp3s on it. And I take pictures and then email them to my Buzznet account. That picture yesterday? I took it and emailed it while I was walking. It was on the web before I got on the bus.
It also has vibrate :) but it's a lame vibrate - couldn't satisfy a flea.
