I went to the movies!
Oct. 23rd, 2015 03:35 pmThe Cinerama is a single screen movie theater downtown just like in the olden days. I first went to a movie there in the early 90's two renovations ago (one in 1999 and one in 2004). The latest upgrade really did a good job. You can pick your seat and buy your ticket ahead of time. Totally worth the $1.50 surcharge.
The snack bar had the only minus and a big plus. It's stocked with all manner of delights but... They serve a lot of chocolate and the whole lobby smells of it. I kind of thought I'd have a special pretzel but when I hit that chocolate smell, all I wanted to do was get out of there. I like chocolate but not that much.
The seat I picked was perfect. And the seats were amazing. I hate regular movie theaters because most are dirty and sticky and the seats are just painful to sit in for 2 hours. These seats were exceedingly comfortable. And when the movie was over, I got up and walked easily. No hip pain or any other discomfort.
The movie? It was somewhere on the spectrum between ok and pretty good. I really really really loved the book. The movie just mostly seemed noisy. Although it was interesting to look at. It was 3D which was interesting.
I think, if another movie I want to see comes to that theater, I might go again. But, I think generally, the movies they show are not on my list of things to see.
It was a fabulous day to be out and about. A bit of a nip in the air. And my fitness band, for the second day in a row, is just happy happy.

But, I still liked the movie.
Sounds like a cool theater.
