So, I finally got my boots from Crocs... and they are at least one, maybe two sizes too small! I generally wear an 8 or 9 or Med in Crocs. So I ordered a Med (Women's 8-9). They are so small, I nearly could not get my foot into one. No way could I actually wear them. The woman I talked to said there might be quality control issues since the boots were so new. But, otherwise, all she could do was have me return them and refund my purchase plus shipping. Since they only have one larger size and she could not assure me they would fit, I just abandoned the whole thing. I carry an extra pair of sox in my backpack. And, I know from experience that getting my feet wet has no dire consequences.

What a shame. They have such a cool idea. Why they can't make it and provide a little needed marketing support is beyond me.

The blue haired space cadet grandma from Virginia left me a note on my answering machine at home. She said that it would take two weeks to get the eyes/nose and that I should send her my credit card number in an email or call her. 1. I gave her my credit card number when I placed the call last week. 2. She said it would be two weeks last week. 3. She left no email address and the three on their website are never answered

Now I am a little more worried about my credit card number and what they are doing with it and whether or not I even have an order and if this ditz will ever be able to tell me. Holey crap.

On the up side, I did find a bulk supplier for the stuffing I like. Buying a 25 pound bag will save me about $25! Plus it will be shipped right to my house next week. Nice.

I spent an hour last night reading at 102 minutes : the untold story of the fight to survive inside the Twin Towers by Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn. It was really too torturous to read from beginning to end. There was way too much of 'there but for the grace of god' in it all for me. I think I'm going to have to ostrich the rest of the book and dive into something that is purely fictional and highly escapist.

I just used another very cool tool I found last week... I do a lot of copy and pasting from webpages to docs from docs to whatever and just now from the library website to Semagic. A whole lotta those times, I don't want to paste the formatting, just the text. Some apps have 'paste special' which gives you an option but some don't. PureText hangs out in the background and when you want to just paste the text and nothing else, instead of CTL+V, use your windows key +V. Wham bam, thank you, m'am. Excellent.

And finally a little Mom-ism. I love the last sentence from her email.

Comcast is out again. But it is nap time anyway. I think I can play my tivoed stuff to sleep by. If not I will sleep to the patter of little rain feet.
