First, here's my house in 2005. I went from builder white to OMGwherearemysunglasses. (Here's the full report now more than a decade old.)

I actually lived my first 45 years cozy with stuff everywhere. I took great comfort in my clutter. And then... one day... I didn't. Now when I look around here I see a whole lot of clutter that I really want to 'share with Goodwill!'

I love the color scheme! It just makes a person happy to see all that rich color. And the shelves - a great way to add interest to those long hallways.

I take it the two people on the guest bed are permanent residents -- I'm not sure how I didn't know about them before. What do they think about the ever-changing parade of bears?

James and Alf!! They are very patient. Alf actually loves it when Zoey hangs out to watch sewing.

James was given to me when I was born by my Mom's boss. He had an Indian name but, in America, went by James. James has had a rough life and is just happy to have a place he can chill and watch the world go by even though he lost both eyes over the years in various incidents.

They are delighted you noticed (and consider the bears to be transients and of no consequence).

Wow this looks amazing! The colour scheme is not one I would think would work and yet it just does so beautifully. I love that your place is so colourful! It makes it very cheerful :) Was nice to see Zoey getting in on the action :) I NEED to do something like that with my mugs when I have my own place! I sort of collect mugs for fandomy type things. Harry Potter, my soccer team, star wars ect. It would be marvelous to have them on display In general though I think that sort of shelving would be good in my room to display my small collection of ornaments and then I'd have even more room for books.... Yeah, I'm totally heading for the ikea website this afternoon :D

I asked for shelves along the hallway and was thinking boards and supports maybe painted nicely. The designer is the one who made them Shelves. And created the whole feel and did an amazing job.
