Jake threw up on one of my teddy bears. Ewww. And, I didn't discover it until it was all dried guk. I have been saying all along that my teddy bears are machine washable. I tell people, 'just pop 'em into the washing machine and then into the dryer - they will do fine.' Actually, I probably should have been saying 'they should do fine'.

But, now I know for sure. I tossed the violated teddy in with the sheets last night and then into the dryer and he came out sparkling clean with a big smile on his face. The smile part might have been invisible to the naked eye, but it was there. Cool!

Mom is scheduled to move into her new digs this week some time. She's moving from one room to 2.5. A bedroom, a living room and a small kitchen (fridge, microwave). Polly's in charge of moving her. I'm a little worried about the TiVo and the computer. Specifically, will they get hooked back up so they work. I think Mom can slide on the TiVo until I get there at Thanksgiving but not the computer. On the up side, the computer is the easier of the two to hook up. Maybe it will all be fine.

If Houston wins tonight, there will be no more baseball until Saturday. This will be the window I need to get caught up. I've got three episodes of Nip/Tuck stacked up and waiting. Plus other important stuff and then there's the B list like House Hunters and What you Get For the Money and Little Britain... And Jeopardy may be back to regular shows this week. So much TV and so little time.

I need new walking shoes but I'm not really interested in paying Zappo's prices for 'em. I may actually walk into a store - Payless or somewhere - instead of buying online. Maybe. Probably not.

Ok, donut time.

FWIW, Payless actually has pretty good walking shoes and at least around here they tend to have a surprising range of sizes. I was surprised to find uber comfortable shoes in my size at 2 or 3 different ones around town.

I've been thinking exactly the same thing. I'm rooting for Houston in the NLCS anyway, but this is just one more reason why I want them to win tonight. Preferably quickly.

I'm usually in charge of the electronics when we move, so what I do is take a picture of the Tivo/TV/amp setup and then print it and take it with me when we move. :) That way, I know exactly how to re-set it.

I moved offices several times during my grad school tenure, and each time, I was in charge of relocating the computer systems. It's so much easier when all you have to do is unplug three things from the wall, roll it to the next office, then re-plug, but once we moved from Token Ring to 10-base-2... which meant that I had to find new network cards for all those machines! My boss completely didn't get it, either.
