The eyes are giving me fits. I can't get them cut in nice, small circles. Finally I went to Etsy and found a nice lady who's going to punch me out a boatload of felt eyes in dark colors for $5 including shipping! They might even be here tomorrow.



I sure hope the bear lady likes dolls, too. Her website has a list of stuff they are looking for and it includes "soft dolls". If she doesn't want dolls, I could get crowded out of here really soon...

:) Initially I thought I'd do them all together - bears and dolls round up but I think I don't have anyplace big enough to hold all. I may try both ways this first month.

These dolls are pretty great. I like how they all have different hair. (right down to the texture because everyone's hair is a bit different.) Are you going to do dolls with different skin colors?

I don't know. If I can do it without making it look like I'm just doing 'black face' on race-independent dolls, I might.

That is a good question. As long as you don't do the typical black-face I think you should be okay.

Those dolls look really cute! I love your sense of color. If your bear lady does not like them, there are many other places that would probably love to have them. The hospital that my mom volunteers at always have handmade toys and such donated to the children's wing. They are much appreciated. You could always sell them yourself on Etsy too!

Whining on:

I'd never sell any of them. It's too much trouble and I don't want to have to deal with 'customers'.

I hate the very thought of having to call around begging for someone to take my free dolls. And then there is the logistics of transfer.

You remind me of my mom. She never wants to sell her lovely watercolor paintings, even though it would not be hard to find buyers for them. She has enough money, and does not want to deal with customers either.

For some reason, the one on the left looks a bit British to me. Great sweater and black stockings. Maybe I'm thinking of Twiggy ...

Btw, I got the AcornTV for a while just to watch season 7 of "Doc Martin" as it was coming out.
