My parents bent over backwards to never ever ever favor one of their children over the other. If one child got something, we all three did. No favorites allowed. It was a big freakin' deal.

My brother had two kids and my sister had three. When they hit 18, each grandchild received a financial gift from my parents every year for four years - $5,000. They could spend it any way they chose (the hope was for college).

After he died, my Mom told me that my father had agonized for a really really long time - nearly scuttling the whole program - over the fact that I had no children and so would not benefit in any way from this largess. Until she told me, the idea didn't even occur to me but the fact that he was so stressed over it came as no surprise.

Anyway, it seems very wrong to have a favorite of these dolls, so I try not to but, don't tell the rest, if I did, I think it might be this one.

I made another swimsuit today so only one doll. Back to normal production volumes, maybe, tomorrow.

I will call her...

She is just as cute as a bug's ear. And that story about your dad is so sweet.

I really like this one too. Your dolls are amazing. If you wanted to sell them I'd buy one for my niece.

I'm really fond of Polka Dot Polly (as I named her) with the distinctive necklace:)

Something this reminded me of that I haven't thought about in a while is how my brother and I both got a check from my mom's mom and stepdad for graduating high school, but only he got one for getting a college degree because grandma died before I graduated college and the huge rift in the family she'd kept together by being alive finally tore completely open. It was so nice not having to interact with her bastard husband any longer, I don't even mind losing that money!

The dolls all have such a 60s/70s vibe to them. :)
