Home Owner's Association meetings bring out the worst in me. I vow to keep my mouth shut the whole time and then violate my vow with some remark or question that I wish I had not said out loud. And I come away with the discovery that I am not the intelligent, competent person I think I am.

The oddest part, however, is that I go back every month knowing exactly that I will come out of it feeling incompetent and unhelpful and far from the person I thought I was and would like to be.

In all other parts of my life, I avoid and deny but not this one, tiny bit, 11 times a year. Weird.

I did learn that

1. there are 3 units for sale, one of which has is likely gone and one of which is smaller than mine, on a lower floor with an asking price just under $700. I also know the owner has delusions of grandeur. Can't wait to see how that turns out.
2. Hunter, next door, has gotten legit permission for his 3 dogs. And everyone is fine with it and him. And the building manager knows he's dealing out of his unit and is cool with that as well. Wild.
3. The electricity shut off is NOT from 10 am -2 pm but from 10 pm to 2 am. Big fucking difference.

that's interesting, because in avery other respect, you seem to accept and embrace just who you are and don't think twice about it. I admire that, by the way.

2) Dealing...what out of his unit? Did I miss something?

Ok I found the other thread but I'm still curious. :)

an asking price just under $700

There have got to be some missing zeroes here.

The electricity shut off is NOT from 10 am -2 pm but from 10 pm to 2 am.

That does make rather more sense. It would still be a little early for me (if I'm home at 10 PM I probably want to be watching TV).

Hmm, when we have things like that, they are always daytime, when people can be assumed to be at work.

Having set through many HOA meetings as manager, the norm is that no residents show up unless they're really pissed about some issue. I'm surprised that Hunter got permission for three dogs and especially surprised everyone is willing to overlook the dealing. His baking really must be something else! :) I admire that you faithfully stay involved in the building's business. It's trite, but knowledge is power.

$700,000 for a condo unit is crazy!
