It's the oddest thing
Feb. 8th, 2016 09:21 pmHome Owner's Association meetings bring out the worst in me. I vow to keep my mouth shut the whole time and then violate my vow with some remark or question that I wish I had not said out loud. And I come away with the discovery that I am not the intelligent, competent person I think I am.
The oddest part, however, is that I go back every month knowing exactly that I will come out of it feeling incompetent and unhelpful and far from the person I thought I was and would like to be.
In all other parts of my life, I avoid and deny but not this one, tiny bit, 11 times a year. Weird.
I did learn that
1. there are 3 units for sale, one of which has is likely gone and one of which is smaller than mine, on a lower floor with an asking price just under $700. I also know the owner has delusions of grandeur. Can't wait to see how that turns out.
2. Hunter, next door, has gotten legit permission for his 3 dogs. And everyone is fine with it and him. And the building manager knows he's dealing out of his unit and is cool with that as well. Wild.
3. The electricity shut off is NOT from 10 am -2 pm but from 10 pm to 2 am. Big fucking difference.

That does make rather more sense. It would still be a little early for me (if I'm home at 10 PM I probably want to be watching TV).

$700,000 may be high for one smaller than mine on a lower floor but certainly not crazy in Seattle or even this building. We have larger units on the 5th floor that would go for that much or more and there are many million dollar condos in Seattle and Bellevue.
