susandennisRick pulled his sorry little ass out of the fire and called before 6 and we went out to one of my favorite places - a little French bistro place. They pour a whole lot of really good scotch into their scotch and water and they make heavenly pomme frittes.
We got all caught up and it was great fun. He and Jack are going to celebrate their 20th anniversary next week and I remember the weekend they met. We all lived in North Carolina then. Rick was an intern in the personnel department and I was writing stuff for IBM in Charlotte. He met Jack volunteering at a crisis hotline - and belive me in the early 80's gay men had more than enough crisises in Charlotte, NC. There were four of us originally. Me, Jack, Rick and Bernard. Bernard was the first person I ever knew to get and die of AIDS. We barely knew what it was then. 1984.
But tonight was fun and dinner was delicious. And the housecleaner came today and the house is beautiful. All is right with the world.
