Dear Person Who is the Team Lead here,

I saw you on channel 5's evening news last night whining and carrying on about how your government had abandoned you and no one is telling you anything and how angry you are about it all.

Here's the thing. 1. You left for your little Cancun long weekend AFTER it was quite clear that a hurricane was going to go there, too. 2. Why the fuck, then, should one penny of my tax dollars go to even give a shit about you and this little snit your got yourself into? 3. Never. I mean, really never. Go on TV again with hair that dirty. That's just disgusting.

Love, me

P.S. The reporter noted that you guys were stuck there because your hotel gave you free drinks and didn't tell you to leave. I really love that the reporter clearly thinks that's a good excuse and I'm sure you do too. For the record... No.

P.S.S. I am so grateful that, apparently, by the time you actually do get back, I'll be gone and won't be able to check and make sure you got that hair washed. Ewwwww.

Was that the same Ugly American Biatch I saw on the (Minneapolis) news station complaining? I kept thinking the Clue Fairy needs to seriously beat her over the head.

Sorry I missed that. I don't have much sympathy for people who complain about things they already knew. When there's a quake in SF I will blame myself if I'm still stuck here. In the past I was talking to someone who bought a house in a little village called Risely in the late 1980s and then started campaigning about the aircraft noise. Her house was on the boundary of The Royal Aircraft Establishment (Bedford) where the UK Minestry of Defense did a lot of it's test flying. The place was also known as RAF Thurleigh which was the home of the first B17s to arrive in the UK in 1943 or so. Fourty years later she's surprised aircraft fly over her house? In the end they MoD moved the flying to Boscombe Down and they lost all the high tech aviation jobs, the locals weren't too pleased when they got what they asked for.

The people in Phoenix Arizona are doing the same thing. Years ago, the airforce base was miles from anyone, but they've been building homes closer and closer and now the air base is surrounded. They think the air base should just up and move. *shakes head*

It seems very dishonest. In Nappa the FAA prevented a housing development because it was under the flight path to the airfield on the grounds that it would be used in the future as a pretext for closing the place. It's the only time I'm aware of this being done.

But instead they bitch and moan until people change the world just to suit their selfish attitude. The people in Bedfordshire should have learned to be careful. The previous big protest was because Stewartby Brickworks wanted to replace their old smoke belching brick works with a new high tech brick works with a single chimney full of scrubbers which would just discharge hot air. But the locals prevented that. So the old smokey kilns stayed open and they made the pit they were going to use into a toxic waste dump instead. Suckers! I bet, given the choice, they rather have a clean brick kiln that god knows what trying to leak into the ground water.

Vacationers just piss me off in general. Every summer we have to put up with the idiots and their annoying children.

Totally. I grew up in Maine ("Vacationland"). People would actually ask if our dog was a bear.
