Oct. 26th, 2005 04:59 pmOn October 6th I ordered 10 pounds of my favorite stuffing for teddy bears. From Batt-Mart. It was shipped on the 13th.
I also updated my knitting pages to talk about this great stuffing after I tossed out some that was not nearly as good. And I sent a note to the company - Fairfield - that makes it to thank them. (I did not mention the website - just said their Polly-fil was the best.)
I got a note several days later from someone at that company. She had found the website and was clearly delighted and grateful for my note and said that she would be sending me a little gift in appreciation.
My stuffing was supposed to be here via Fed Ex on the 20th. It wasn't. No help from Fed Ex so I called Batt-Mart and got their answering machine and left a message that 1) the package wasn't here and 2) Fed Ex could not seem to find it. The Batt-Mart guy called me back within an hour and said he would fix it and send me an email right away.
He did. He sent me an email expressing his dismay and said since Fed Ex can't even give him a trace report until the 28th, he got the manufacturer - Fairfield - to send it again.
That was on Monday. Today the box arrived. And in the box, in addition to the stuffing were some wonderful treats!!
The folks at Fairfield put together that it was me - from the website/email - and with the stuffing put in a beautiful knitters notebook, a velvet lined magnetic lovely knitting needle case and a jar of some very special, expensive yarn soap tied up with a measuring spoon!
How cool is all that??!!!
On the down side, I now have eyes, noses and stuffing for about 40-50 more bears so it may be a good while before you get to hear me bitch about bear bits. Sorry.
