Round off mind

So my 80 year old Mom and I swap emails several times a day. We just touch base usually. Her time zone is 3 hours ahead of me so generally as I'm eating dinner she's heading off to bed. Generally she sends me a 'goodnight' note and I send her one before I go to bed. Tonight, I got a twist:. Her last note ended with:

"Talk probably tomorrow, but I also may check back here if you have a piece of your mind you need to round off. Probably good night. Love,me"

I've known this woman a long time and that's the first time I ever heard that phrase. I love it.

:) That's nice you and your mom can email each other! You can send each other all kinds of little stuff without any problem.

It is very nice and a perfect solution for both of us. We'd drive each other crazy if we lived closer and I hate the telephone. We're very lucky.

Most of our emails really say nothing but mean 'I'm here, checking in. I love you.' It is nice and we are grateful.

way back in college, I used to send my Mom a postcard or letter every day and continued it into the navy when I could but communications fell when absence grew longer... after that cards and letters and phone calls were special occasions. and a wonder what is wrong when one would appear, I'll bet. she's gone now except in memory and in my heart and my daily thoughts of her... glad you are keeping contact closely... and thank you for sharing that with us...
