So I got some good work time in and then decided that I needed to go to Target. The closest Target store is in a part of Seattle called West Seattle. My friend, Susan, used to live there near the Target. Since she moved, I don't get there as often which is bad for Target's bottom line. So today I was coming back the most direct way and noticing changes here and there since I last drove that way. All of a sudden I saw this nice looking new building with a giant iron flower coming out of its forehead. As I drove by I saw that it's the new West Seattle branch of the public library!!

I had two books to return on the seat next to me and my camera so I whipped around and pulled into its parking lot. These new branches are just as amazing as the new main branch is. Each is made for its own neighborhood and the ones I have seen are just jewels. And this is another jewel. I love Seattle.

Seattle is amazing. I never get out that way often enough. When we do, we have to stay if Fife since that's where the motels are with the truck parking.
But with our job, we get to go into the really interesting areas.
But, uh....your traffic's a little...ahem....INSANE!!!

Ah! Another person who sees loveliness in little details and the little details of loveliness.

It's finds like these - or even just the possibility of such finds - that make it worth my while to go walking.

It's nice to see buildings where the usability wasn't the only concern - little beauties like these can make all the difference between the mundane/boring and the fabulous/interesting.
