I got a major lot done on my major project. I actually have about an hour's worth of finishing and writing up a summary doc and I'll be done. I will be presenting it on the 2nd so I am kind of pacing myself. If I finish too early, when the 2nd rolls around I will have forgotten it all.

I still have about 5 hours before I leave for the bus to get to the airport. About every 15 minutes, there's a bus that leaves from 3 blocks over. One is an express that takes about 20 minutes and one is a local that takes about 30. Both dump you out just outside the arrival pickup area. $1.25. It is really a heck of a sweet deal.

joyoflj sent me this wonderful graphic. Oddly enough, I'll come closer to seeing the real thing in South Carolina than I will here in Seattle!

And finally the Mom-ism du jour. She asked me to check her sent mail to make sure some notes went where she meant them to. She had written to her cousin, Patsy. Are not close and maybe only met once or twice. But swap Christmas cards, I guess. Mom had sent her a note about my brother's new shop - Patsy lives outside of Austin. Mom was reporting on the state of herself and she said:

I live in a retirement center in what they call assisted living. I walk, I talk, I eat, I compute. For 82, I'm in pretty good health and feel fortunate to be so well taken care of.

That made me smile. Oh and Patsy got the note cause she wrote right back. The internet is a wonderful thing.

Yes, the internet is a wonderful thing. I just got email from my Mom, who is in Pittsburgh to give a speech about censorship (and she's freezing to death), but she noticed a USA Today headline about google hitting $400. "Thought of you" she wrote. Neato.
