Last night was hot. I think the a/c is going to have to work harder and I may have to sleep in the living room. The next 10 days are all sunny and hot. At least it will soon be over.

When I was little, on the east coast, it started getting hot in early May. (I remember going back for a rare visit to my folks and standing by the car to go back to the airport. May 6 and it was 90 degrees with 70% humidity at 6 fucking am. I could not get back here fast enough.)

Here in Seattle, we have very few 90 degree days at all. And they are confined, usually, to August. And we never see 70% humidity at all. If it hits 30, we're all dying here. Again, August. It used to turn cool over Labor Day weekend. I mean sweater-required cool with all the hot behind us. But, in the past few years, I know I'm still bitching at least the first two weeks of September. But, then it is really is gone. Whew.

Starting the day with a swim really does help. No matter what it's like outside, inside the pool, the water is clear and cool and cleansing and refreshing and the perfect way to start the day.

If I can keep the sewing room cool enough there will be lots of sewing. A doll I made yesterday gave me the idea that making a couple of dolls with hijabs would probably be a nice thing to do. I figured out, during my swim this morning, a good way to do it. I'm not going to try and give them flowing covering garments but a head piece for a few would be nice, I think.

That's really my plan today. Sew and stay cool. Baseball is back tonight. I already lost the ground I made up in bear production somehow. Today's schedule calls for completion of bear #5 and that will happen but I wanted to get ahead and I didn't... yet. Maybe I can fix that tonight during baseball.

I'm not sure how cost effective this would be in the long run for you, but have you looked into getting the ductless wall mounted a/c units? I know Mitsubishi makes them, but I think other companies do as well.

Yes I was reading a pro/con list of these things and the aesthetics of the inside units was definitely on the con list.

The ones I've seen in action didn't have very big outside units, but then they were only hosting one or two inside units.

And if you're only inconvenienced a little on one or two really hot days, why fix what ain't broke?

The lack of hot and cold days is why my parents love the Northwest, but I think I need sunshine. I'm so much happier in California.

It's getting really hot where I live in Canada now.. it's crazy.

I try to just stay inside, and really not go out at all. My car has no AC which doesn't help matters haha.

It's usually 90 degrees in F 32, in Celsius.
The humidity makes it about 104 F and in the low 40s in C

Hahaha. You can do that, but you'd die XD
I don't get the conversion either, that's why I put them in there.

Yeah, it's an older car, but still going strong. I just try to make sure I'm on a road where I can be going fast with the windows down lol. I might get AC in as a after market piece, but it would probably be way too much to do.

For sure it does.

It hit 94 at our Gloucester house yesterday. This is an extremely rare event (at least it has been; I hope it stays that way).
