So far, so good
Nov. 19th, 2005 04:22 amI'm in the Charlotte airport. It's 10 after 7 and my flight to Charleston leaves just before 8. I have hot coffee and 2 glazed Krispy Kreme donuts. Oh and a fine connection via my Treo. It's nearly snappy. However for some reason the internet time won't sync. You'll just have to trust me.
It is 24 degrees here outside and about 150 degrees inside. I guess they keep it warm to make it more comfortable for their naked travelers.
The bus to the airport was fine. But, my gate was at the opposite end of the airport from the bus stop. I got in some exercise. And security was worse than previous years. On the up side, there were only about 10 people in the security line. On the down side, that encouraged the security folks to go for the cavity search and the DNA match.
The Charleston airport is tiny and very doable. Otherwise, I think I'd just get Mom to meet me at the terminal - we could visit across the security gates.
Oh good, a worker guy just came in and reported that the plane wouldn't start because it's too cold. Nice. It's one of those little bitty jets. Maybe we can get a tow.
I have a copy of this morning's Charlotte Observer. When I was married, my husband was a reporter there. I wonder if I will recognize any bylines. It's only been 25 years.
