Muggy!

I was raised in muggy. My memory says my Summers (which ran from the end of April to the beginning of November) were filled with 100/100 days (100 degrees with 100% humidity) and, of course, no air conditioning. We finally did move into a house with air conditioning when I was 16. HEAVEN.

One of the many shocking things about moving to Seattle was no humidity. I live 2 blocks from a body of water so big that gynomous ships live and work there. And this is Seattle. So. Rain.

But, it is rarely humid. You can leave a saltine cracker on the counter for a week and it will still crunch when you bite into it*. When I was a kid, you had to eat your saltines before your soup or they would be soggy by the time you got to them. (*Also downtown on the 4th floor, bugs are very rare, thankyoujeasus.)

So on the rare days when it is humid, like today, it feels like the air is a wash cloth soaked in warm water. But, it's not bad. Not bad enough even to turn on the air conditioner. Just not invigorating. And the sewing room isn't that much fun.

The Mariners lost big. Really, horribly, embarrassingly, devastatingly big. The only good news is that they don't play again until Friday.

I live in Van., Canada and complain even when our humidity is 70%! Usually it is much higher. I thought Seattle's climate was similar. Now I think you are very lucky. Most of our days are humid.

Yeah, you guys get snow and we never do. I've always felt the humid in Vancouver. Odd. I think the temperature there is much like the temperature here - even though you guys use funny numbers for it :)
