Errands all done. Gas in the car. Dirt off the car. Then Goodwill. The nice lady was overwhelmed with my pile and forgot to give me the 30% discount which is, frankly, ok. I consider it a donation to one of my best charities.

I scored a lot of really cool fabric but this is my favorite:



It's a whole pillow case - probably a dozen dolls worth. Pink ponies. The best. My Goodwill purchases always draw a crowd. Everyone always wants to know what I'm going to do with all those pillowcases. It's fun.

Then on to Grocery Outlet where I did remember avocados. They had a new batch - bigger ones. But... they had Meow Mix cups which is Zoey's favorite right now and Vaselene Spray and Go for $4. (I have 2 of those in my Amazon cart right now - Amazon wants $7.50 for each... DELETE!) But best of all... BEST... they had quarts of Ben & Jerry's cookie dough for $3! QUARTS for $3! I limited myself to 2.

So I feel quite productive. I need to put crap way and maybe get a little lunch and then get to sewing.

15 year olds were just being born the last time this happened. We probably won't make it but still ... this is pretty amazing.

I keep wondering-- are the pillowcases you are finding there commercially made? They look so much like the ones made by hand for the 1 Million Pillowcases project, I hope something hasn't gone awry in your area.

Yep, they are all commercially made and used and soft are worn.

Oh, and also, the Chicago Cubs, my team, are also leading in their division for the first time in many years. We'll see where that leads....

Of course, the Cubs have a great talent for starting out great and dying at the end. Whether it's a game or a season or a play-off, I never expect anything else to happen. And then the surprise is nice.

I totally remember eating at the Fremont Dock on the weekend with Claire in my belly, and watching their game win count on the wall.

SOOO cool. I was thinking of you last night when they kept swapping broadcasters between tv and radio... Blowers would be replaced by Hyphen (who is not bad, actually) and I'd think OHHHH, I hope meowmensteen is enjoying Mike!

Oh that's who I meant by Hyphen. They call him hyphen cause there's one between Rowland and Smith.

I put in my post-season ticket order yesterday (the deadline is tomorrow). I think I have a reasonable expectation of getting to use at least some of them.

The Mariners are not that far back, but it's true that an awful lot of teams have to screw up for them to actually make it. Best of luck to them.

You should be rooting for the Red Sox, most of whose remaining games (15 of 18) are against Baltimore, the Yankees, and Toronto. We can't help you with Detroit or Houston.

It's getting complicated. The Mariners are currently playing the A's which is an easy push but they could blow it and they just aren't so until they do, yes, I am forced into Red Sox fandom.

This is one whacko year for sure.
