When I was in South Carolina, I bought a tank of gas for the rental car.  It was $2.09 a gallon which stuck me as dirt cheap.

One of Mom's new neighbors is Alicia Rhett who played India Wilkes in Gone with the Wind.  It was a short lived movie career.  She spent most of her life as a portrait painter.  She is now a tiny little thing with the most beautiful face.  She wears it with a cheer smile and a big 'hello' at all times.  Her skin is flawless.  Mom says she has about half her marbles.

It always strikes me - as I look around at the often bobbing white heads in the joint - if you could give them all their brains and voices back - what amazing stories you might be able to dig out of them...

When I was at Mom's, I bought a light bulb at Walmart.  I was smart, I saved the card with the details on it and I put in a place where Mom could find it.  Now I want to buy 5 for me.  Mom sent me the name and model number and I cannot find them anywhere online and it's making me nuts.  The closest Walmart is 13 miles from here and I'm sure that if I drove there, they would not have them in stock.  I did not find them in the light bulb section but in the section that had thermometers and atomic clocks. It was weird at the time but now I know it was very weird.  It's a Lights of America bulb - model 2830.  They have a website but this bulb ain't on it.  GRRRRR

Tomorrow morning I'll go to a shop near here that has only light bulbs and see if they can help.

I don't seem to be missing any LJ comment emails but so many of my LJ friends are still complaining about it, I am constantly checking.  It feels like 'will everyone not here please raise your hand?'

Right before I left, Roomba had a bit of a fit when I was running it.  I just put it back into its base and left it.  I need to run it today and make sure it is ok.  Maybe it was just sad that I was leaving.

And, last but not least, happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] pheon!  I hope you got rid of your cold for your birthday.

I did find it kind of curious that your last post appeared to have comments disabled.

Maybe you can order the light bulb from Wal Mart online?

I've ordered from them, and been pleased.

Sorry, I didn't know that Wal Mart even had online shopping until a few months ago.

Nah, I didn't think you were being snotty. I should have waited until after I had my coffee before I suggested that. Hope you found the bulbs by now.

Thank you for the happy birthday. No, I still have the cold. But I am having a Cornish pasty for dinner, so all will be fine.

I had a roomba on my Christmas list, but since I killed my laptop, it looks like Santa will have to bring me one of those instead.

It'a all about priorities ... clean house ... laptop ...... no contest!!!

We have a house rule (which we've been unable to follow strictly) against buying lamps that require special bulbs, because they're all different, they're all expensive, and you can never find the damn things anyway.
