Jake is just not a Seahawks fan.  Every time they win, they shoot off fireworks.  Every time they shoot off those fireworks, Jake is jerked awake and when napping is your job, getting jerked away just sucks.

All it took was one tiny mention about not experiencing the emailed comment problem...  Haven't gotten an email for any of the 10 comments made since.  From now on, my lips are zipped on the subject.

King5 (NBC) just said that there is a chance of snow right here at SD HQ by tomorrow night.  I know they are wrong but it's fun to think about.

Animals and fireworks pretty much don't agree, I think.

Our local zoo has an Orangutan program - one of the orangutans who lives there was rescued as a baby from Burma shortly after the war.

We have a major fireworks show on our National Holiday. (Australia day) and a couple of other times a year - the fireworks get set off from the foreshore just short walk from the zoo, so it's always pretty loud there.

When the fireworks go off, apparently they have to sedate the orangutan, and have two or three keepers sit in with her so she doesn't freak out and damage things. Our dog gets a bit freaked too, he just hides out in the shower until it's over.

The funny part is that my other cat, Betty, hears the fireworks and knows it's time for dinner so she gets all jazzed and starts dancing around the kitchen!

Ask Jake to keep an eye out for flying pigs. Sheesh, I watched the last hour of that game wondering how the Seahawks would lose the game. Three times, finger poised on the "Off" button and a field goal is missed by the opposing team. If they can't accept a gift after three attempts then we'll take it.

I know squat about football and really don't care but even I got the gist of this game. At least the last 30 mins of it. Wild.
