I'm not sure whether to be pissed or frustrated or just really confused. Mail to Mom's domain name is still MIA except for the test mail sent by the register who also provides the forwarding service. I discovered that somehow the function to forward her mail had been deleted. I reinstated it but still no joy. DirectNic finally did respond to my trouble ticket only to say that 1) they had no idea how the instruction got deleted and 2) it was working fine because their test mail got there.
Their test mail did get there but NONE of my mail did. I sent 2 mails from gmail - one to her domain name and one to her real account at bellsouth, I sent 2 more mails just like that from my ISP's SMTP and 2 more from Microsoft's exchange server. None of the domain mail has turned up at all. The mail to bell south got there immediately.
Fuck. I reopened the trouble ticket but no further info yet.
I hate to have to buy hosting just to get her some decent mail forwarding. Fuck.

Date: 2005-12-04 05:06 pm (UTC)Mom just loves having an easy, simple email address that she can tell her old friends that they will remember. And her young friends are always so impressed that she has her own domain and that tickles her to bits.
So, it's worth the hassle, I think. In looking back, there appear to have been 5 times in the 3 years she's had it where these folks have fucked up. I guess that's not too bad. It's still frustrating, tho.
