I have an old bamboo tray under my bed where all of the cat toys go until Zoey spreads them around the house. I have not looked under there in a while but still, all of the toys got there because of me. Except the one she found today... She's been batting it around the house for a half hour. I have no idea where it came from or where she found it. She's refusing to answer any questions...

I don't have much unbacked up data. All my photos are on Google and also on Flickr and most are locally saved as well. All my music is locally and redundantly saved. My daily computing for the past 4 years has all been on Chromebooks so nothing to backup there. But, it's been increasingly nagging at me how totally SOL I would be if I were, for whatever reason, locked out of my Google account.

Once, a few years ago, I was locked out of Google Wallet. I don't remember if I ever even knew why but it was a major PIA and an even bigger one to get back in. But I did. If I were locked out of my Google account, it would be like removing electricity from my life. I'd be dead in the water.

I have a few documents that are critical and they are all in Evernote as well as copied locally but email and contacts. Holy crap, I'd be dead dead dead. So. Today I installed GMVault and once it's finished its big dump, I'll create a weekly task for syncing. It's been a while since I've worked with a command line app. But, at least now, I'll have a database of my email that I can import into another gmail account or into Thunderbird (which I also downloaded). So I feel a little better. But, still, Google, don't break up with me ever ok? Please?

It is almost evening dark outside and it's only 3:30 pm. I don't mind at all but I know it makes a lot of people (most people?) crazy. I am still a few hundred steps from my tracker's daily goal so I think before I settle in for some TV watching, I'll go take a walk around the building. Maybe check the free shelf. Then I can come back and watch junk TV guilt free.

I did get 3 dolls finished:

What would kill me is losing Dropbox. I have a lot of old stuff saved locally and backed up in Carbonite, but most of what I really depend on is in Dropbox. Am I being crazy with this?

Thanks! As long as both keep running and I have access to both...but I guess that's going to be true no matter what you do.

I keep documents in Dropbox which automatically syncs to my computer and my photos in Box which does the same. Both are free accounts. Every so often I save important things to an external hard drive as well. However, like you I would be fairly devastated if I ever lost access to Google.

We have a basket we return all the cat toys to and they then remove them all over the house. Every time we move the fridge or the sofa we find long forgotten ones that they go mad over
