What a treat the Belleuvue Museum is.  The last time I was there was several years ago for a Duane Hansen exhibit.  I love Duane Hansen's stuff so much and I was so focused on it that other exhibits and the building itself never even made it onto my radar.  Since then the museum totally folded - shut down, out of cash, for a year.  It re-opened with a new fresh look at the world of artistic crafts and wow.

This time I was very focused on everything because there was hardly a nook or cranny of the building or exhibits that didn't have a treat for the eyes. The building itself - at least inside is wonderful backdrop with a marvelous staircase of steps with width and depth and rise that make you really feel the motion.

And the exhibits.  There were four there today.  I was actually most interested in the David Chatt work which turned out to be amazing and beautiful and worth it but he was on the top floor and the journey to his stuff was paved with other stuff that was just as amazing and wonderful.

I honestly know very little about artwork curration (is that even a word?) but whoever arranged the bits and pieces at this museum did a wonderful job.  You had excellent views wherever you looked.  So many of the pieces need both close up and far away looks and their arrangements gave you ample room for both.  It was such a treat.

Kieran and Alan and I all loved it.  All of it.  I am going to have to keep an eye out for future exhibits there.  Tres cool.  Very tres.

Very nice. You had previously mentioned that you were going there. I know I have a ton of stuff to write but, I'm still interested in the piece because it is the Bellevue. Let me know when you get a chance. I'll fill it in with something about the museum's reopening. :-)

Let me try to remember... the Bellevue Museum closed soon after its renovation or, was it a new facility (I can't recall this second). It was national news because there were questions about the staff, the board, the endowment, and the mission. Since I'm involved with art and had mentioned its closure, I thought it would be nice to share your thoughts about the museum from a visitor's perspective now that it has reopened. And, I was interested in what was showing and how it was displayed. I thought it better coming from you rather than from one of their PR people, you know. Afterall, without visitors, and supporters, they'd probably close again.
