Turns out there was not as many as I thought. 7 bags which is about the usual haul. 7 bags is totally doable in the Smart car. Tomorrow.





I also made a new swim suit, did a load of laundry, and cleaned up the kitchen. I need to take a little walk now to get to my fitness goal and thus make my streak of 200 goal days in a row. Then I am going to sit on my ass for the rest of the day.

Also, one of my all-time dreams is making my own swimsuits!

My swimsuits are simple simple simple - performance singlet style and dirt simple to make. They are all based on the simple leopard one of this pattern. And take me about an hour and a half from start to finish.



I started making them because swimsuits for fat women are either black or are made to lie on the beach, not swim. So now, when I see a good print in 4 way lycra or spandex, I buy it and make a suit. It makes my swimming more fun.

You're an expert at the sewing machine though, so, exactly, how long can it take? That is part of the dream. That you're living!

I have narrow hips & a small bottom, but I find that even the few sizes that fit me are so unflattering. I've gotten some underwear that I would love to recreate! But I really just don't have the patience for sewing. In fact my never-used sewing machine is finally now sitting on the landing waiting for whoever wants it.

Cool! I got mine in 2011. I was going to get a new one this year but they changed the design too much that I really don't like the new ones so I'll just keep this one.

I know what you mean. I'll probably get one of the new ones eventually but I really love this one. I keep joking that this car was made with me in mind as it is metallic chocolate brown and I'm the only person who loves the colour brown.
I got my first one in 2001. They weren't available in England and it was a left-hand drive imported from Amsterdam

I really love your knitted bears! How long does it take to make one?

I've made swimsuits in the past (for myself and my daughters) because the amount of fabric you need is so tiny that the prices the shops charge is exorbitant.

Thanks. It takes about 6 or 7 hours for a bear.

My problem is not so much the price of the swimsuit fabric but finding good patterns and colors. I buy the elastic in bulk so one suit usually costs me about $20 or less with lining. I used to only line the front but I found that they last much longer if I do a full lining.
