Driving Miss Google

I have not spent a lot of time in traffic this week - to and from the pool which is a little more than 5 miles from here and then on a couple of errands. There has been so little traffic that it's shocking. I turned a corner yesterday and where there is normally a traffic jam anytime of day or night, there were not even any cars. At 11 am.

But, all afternoon today, Google has been telling me that there is heavier than traffic nearby. I don't know whether Google is losing its mind or maybe everyone all of a sudden jumped in their cars. Weird.

I did go out about 11 and they weren't out then. I made a quick trip to Grocery Outlet. Avocados were 4 for $5. Not great but better than $2 or $2.50 each.

And then I sewed. A while back someone left some knit lounging pants on the free shelf in the garage. There were in good shape and nice knit is hard to find so I grabbed them. I have now used one cuff to make a credit card holder. Sadly, it was in the purse that got stolen. At least I have another cuff so I can make another. The waste had a lovey purple ribbon tie belt. This first doll is now sporting one tail end of it. I love reuse.

I'm sometimes outraged at how expensive avocados can be. I won't pay more than a dollar each. Or fine, "four for $5."

Usually I can get avocados at Grocery Outlet for $.50. But a strike in Mexico has caused me some avocado-interuptus. It's getting better, tho.

Beautiful dolls Susan! I've been watching your cams for a couple days now and really enjoy seeing your day to day life. Have you ever considered shipping your dolls to fans? I know I personally would love to have one of your famous dolls :)

I know she doesn't sell them...she's already donating them. Seems unlikely you'd get one but you never know, I suppose.

etantvertis correct. All my dolls to to needy children. When all the needy children have one, I'll consider other options :) But, thank you so much for the lovely complement.

Isn't it strange how foreign the streets can sometimes look when there is no traffic? Driving home from Snohomish late at night on Christmas Eve, there were almost no cars on the road and the freeway just looked... weird.

So so so weird. Even this morning, coming into town from Ballard, I waited at a corner for the usual long line of traffic and there was not one, single car.

One more day and then back to headlight reality. Sigh.
