The bits

I worked on work work nearly steadily last night until about 9 and then I crashed.  But it was good.  And when I got up this morning, I was rewarded by a very quick approval from someone traveling and hard to get a hold of.  So it was way worth it.

Xmas Lights

Since I got my new egg/toast toy I've been on a jag of soft boiled eggs.  I can't use the poacher until they send me a new poaching cup since the teflon on this one flakes into my eggs - not pretty.  Anyway, I love soft boiled eggs but really the only way to eat them sensibly is from an egg cup.  Problem is using an egg cup seems sooooo pretentious to me... It makes me want to "Harrison, have cook bring out some warmer toast, will you please?"  But I suffer through.

I am an enabler, a junkie...  I have Mom hooked on Crocs.  We bought her two pair while I was there - black and tan.  Now she wants Navy.  Fortunately, my supplier just happens to have Navy, in stock, in Mom's size.  I love my supplier because she's really fast and now she's got a free shipping deal.  Sadly she can't get the kind of inventory she would like so often I'm forced to order directly from the Crocs website and they are just a bitch to deal with and slow as molasses.  But, since Mom wants a boring color, she'll likely have 'em before Christmas.

My coffee pot is one of those with a timer that drips into a vacuum pot.  I set it up before I got to bed and the coffee is ready when my eyes next open.  However, apparently, last night I did not do such a good job.  This morning I woke up to coffee, not in the pot, but all over the counter and the floor.  Nice.

I have to go to the boss's house on Thursday for a Christmas party.  I don't actually have to go.  I could give some excuse. It will be interesting to see his house and meet his wife and family and see and meet some of the other people.  I particularly want to see one of the writers I've been working with. She's been fun to work with and I don't think I've even ever talked to her on the phone.

I don't plan to dress up but I was going to throw on this cool Christmas necklace that someone gave me a couple of years ago. It's really fun and festive and I cannot find it!  I know where it was pre-redesign and I have no clue where it is now.  I wish I could find it.  Maybe I'll pick up a Christmas dodad to wear at Sears when I go to my eye appointment today.

And I need to come up with something to bring.  I know it's not required either - especially not here in Seattle but I just cannot bring myself to go to someone's house - to a dinner or party - empty handed.  Which reminds me, I also need to take something to Kieran and Alan's for Christmas Eve.  Hmmmm.

Enough rambling.  To work for moi.

If you get yourself one of those egg cups common around Easter - shaped like a duck or a bunny - that will significantly lower the pretention level of your breakfast. :)

We have those thermos coffee things here, what usually happens is that someone presses the brew button by accident, or they don't notice or care that there's some left and they brew anyway. Net effect is up to a couple of quarts of something between hot water and strong coffee (depending on their exact mistake) all over the counter, in the draws and on the floor. Then they call the poor bloody day cleaner to come and clean up after them.

You can also get crocs here

I haven't gotten crocs (I'm more of a Merrill moc person) but I love Sahalie's polar fleece sweatshirts.

Oh boy, do I know (and hate) that feeling.

Soft boiled eggs in an egg cup is soooooo luxurious. Revel in it.
