I am not at all pleased that Trump is our president. But, he is. I think he's crass and mean and thoughtless and immature. Twitter is full to the brim with people trying to be even more crass and mean and thoughtless ad immature about Trump. It's a race to the bottom of the cesspool and, honestly, I'm not sure Trump's going to get there first.

I followed somewhere north of 1,500 people on Twitter as of last week. And then I started removing everyone who said or retweeted thoughtless, mean, snarky and hateful stuff about Trump or his staff. I now am following 922 people but that number's going down fast.

Sadly, I enjoyed those I deleted when they tweeted about non-Trump-hate stuff - like the TV critics and the magazine writers. I followed several actors, directors and producers and was sorry to see them go but I'm just fed up with non-productive, middle school level fact-less commentary. I also appreciate thoughts, ideas and links to political information but just now, I need it without the hyperbole, exaggeration and lies.

On the up side... more dolls made and more sewing room breakdown. I'm more than a little impressed that I was able to pretty easily clear out enough space in one of my bedroom closets to house most of the sewing room stuff. I have a large armoire in there that has one of those very wide 5 drawer (plastic) dressers in it. I was able to move that whole dresser into my bedroom closet and now there is a place to hang clothes in the guest room! (Note to self, be sure and get Bill's help moving it back in before he leaves for the airport.)

And, in an effort to clean out the freezer, I had the rest of the calamari for lunch. When I first got my air fryer I went nuts buying breaded frozen shit to fry. I got a large bag of clamari. It was very so so. I tried it again. Not much better. And the rest lingered in the freezer until today. This time I spritzed it good with oil and cooked it longer. At 12 minutes, it looked like a soggy mess. At 15 minutes it was perfect! Delicious. Hmmmm Maybe I'm going to try okra (another one of my fails) again...

But, now I'm going to start up another bear and watch Jane Pauley on CBS Sunday morning.

I agree with you. The hate needs to stop. I got caught in the middle of the Women's March in NYC yesterday (completely by accident!) and the amount of "Not My President" signs was staggering. Do they even know how this works? Whether we want him or not, he is, in fact OUR President. I hope he proves me wrong and makes some good decisions while in office but, either way -- he is our president. For now.

So... you have very pretty pictures of kitties on this post. Is that what's really there or is my "replace Trump with kittens" extension working overtime? :)

LOL Yeah. I reloaded the page and caught sight of your wonderful dolls... just before they were replaced with cute little kittens again. :)

I agree with you, but the "not my President" started with Clinton. "He did it first" is a cruddy excuse, but as a liberal non-Democrat, I still feel anger that they get to thoroughly disrespect and disparage (and, in fact, savage) two decent, competent men, but then demand we "respect the office of the President" when their man is in office.

I don't find it *right* or *okay* but understandable... an understandable lapse.

Heck, I even realized that *I* wanted Trump to be impeached. And I don't... not until he earns it (which, I confess, I feel confident will happen).

I feel only semi-confident that he will be impeached. But, in any case, the atmosphere right now scares me. The same thing happened with Obama -- at least the hatred did. This? Is different. DO people have the right to march? Yes. We all have the right to peacefully protest. DO we have the right to disrespect the office (and the man in it)? It's happened time and time again,

Personally, while Trump's politics worry me, I feel the office deserves respect. The man has to earn it.

Nod. Part of this is how I felt on election day. Some of the *nastiest* people in the world, using some of the *nastiest* tactics in the world won control of the most powerful nation that's ever been. And why are Democrats and liberals expected to be the mature adults, when the spoiled children are given more political power?

I got over it. Then I saw why I got over it summed up here: http://www.stonekettle.com/2017/01/resolutions-2017.html.

Re: the respect of the office, I had this daydream where they need a bunch of IT gurus and I'm introduced to the President and told that while I'm not managing the group, I've been spoken of so well by multiple people that they want me working cross-team and on certain special projects. Will I do it? And I answer "Yes."

And in this daydream, one of his aides says "you mean, 'Yes Mr. President.'" to which I'd reply "I mean 'yes, I will help, to the best of my ability.'"

Because it's a private meeting, see. If it were in front of a crowd, or if I was told that a foreign dignitary or VIP was present, I'd swallow my bile and say "yes, Mr. President." And note that in this daydream, when called to service to help the nation, the question of saying 'no' didn't even occur to me. That's my respect for the office.

I love that article. Thank you for sharing it. It really does so eloquently sum everything up. Nice.

Glad to be on the same page with someone. Most people don't get my position at all.

I delete or unfollow Facebook friends for outrageous stuff. Plus, I get too emotional with everyone else's feelings going on. I only want to deal with my own. Lol. That's a huge chunk for you to let go though. Hopefully your Twitter is happier now. I don't tweet so I have no one to delete there.

I'm also not a Donald Trump supporter. His demeanor is crude and rude and bullying. But -- I think he has given the rest of us permission to respond in kind. If we are doing the same thing, how can we complain about him? We have to rise above it - and him.

I have a twitter account, but don't post much, and use it only to read certain people / organizations. I think the temptation to be snarky and rude is too easy when you only have 140 characters. Facebook isn't much better, and sometimes is worse.

It is sad what politics has done to us. People we would otherwise enjoy in certain areas of our lives, have been discarded because of political differences. I've been told to never talk politics or religion. Clearly (and sadly) there is a reason for this!

I love the varieties of hair styles you put on your dolls. The longer hair is fun! :)

Well, I could have googled it myself, but thanks ;) Doesn't really sound like frying to me...more like steaming.

If you wanted an accurate term, "convection roasting" is probably closest.
