For the third night in a row, I slept straight through the night. No getting up to pee or get a drink of water. Not once. Very weird. I've always been a good sleeper. I fall asleep fast but, usually, wake up a couple of times in the night to pee or with a dry mouth so to drink some water. I woke up this morning at 3 but only to peek at the clock and then go right back to sleep til 5.

I'm losing my cozy envelope of darkness in the mornings. Now, when I leave the gym around 7ish, the daylight is beginning to peek out. Soon it will be daylight savings time and I'll get full sun going home which is a major PIA. Oh well. It's been lovely while it lasted.

The usuals were at the pool this morning. It's nice to see familiar faces every morning but, even nicer, to have a good feel for how and how long they will be swimming. Cuts down on necessary early morning thinking.

My house cleaner gave me a large orchid for Christmas. I am not an orchid fan and, outside of your most basic philodendron, I can't keep anything alive. But, since she's here every two weeks, I had to keep the thing and keep it prominently displayed. Last night it dropped it's final blossom. Yeah!! Now can at least cut the long straggly stem and move it to a shelf in the hallway where I don't have to look at it. I'm an ungrateful wretch. Well, not so true. I'm grateful the thing gave up all it's flowers :)

I have one errand to run this morning. I could stretch it out to more and take the car but I think I'll just walk up to Bartell's. It's not that far, just far enough to be a real walk rather than a pop around the corner. Maybe I'll wait until lunch time and pick up something while I'm out. That's a better plan.

Two television notes of interest. Bravo has a new show - The Imposters - which is really different and good. At least Episode 1 was. I love a good grifter tale. And Jeopardy is having one of its way-too-many stupid tournaments. So no Jeopardy for two weeks. I enjoy the Tournament of Champions but these niche tournaments are tedious. Get off my lawn.

I think I'll go make a doll. Here's the latest bear.

This coming Christmas, you need to drop hints for the "home cooked meal" gift option again. You seemed to like it best of all the many years worth of stuff she's given you.

PS: I'd have killed that orchid faster than you. The reason I don't forget to feed and water the animals is they move and remind me of their presence.

Ha! I didn't realize she still brought you food now.

*sigh*

This bear's colors are quite different from what we've been seeing lately. Striking and beautiful.
