My fear in getting monthly boxes from Universal Yum was that I'd fall in love with something I'd never be able to get my hands on again. Two months in and it happened.



These cookies are heaven. Little buttery nuggets with a kiss of orange. YUM. And not available on Amazon or anyplace else I can find. Sigh.

But, what is available on Amazon now is my 2013 Pixel Chromebook. It's a great machine and in great shape but I just don't need it and want to buy the new Samsung one with an onboard pen. (Which, also, I do not need.) I'm a little ambivalent about parting with the Pixel so if it doesn't sell, I won't be crushed.

Today's Poke bowl score turned out to be a turd. The rice was horrible, the shrimp was spiced way beyond my desired hot level. Nearly a total fail. BUT, it was a poke bar - like a salad bar - so the fail might be corrected by better selection. I'll give it another go next weekend. And tomorrow, it's back to Uwajimaya.

Last night, as she often does, Zoey curled up into her computer monitor bed. But last night she struck a pose just just tickled me. I need to get in there and wash those pillows - they have a layer of black cat hair on them.

I just checked Cost Plus's website. They have cookies from everywhere, but not your cookies :( oh well.

You nearly cost me $$. You reminded me that I did not check World Market. They didn't have them either BUT they had a couple of very pretty quilts and I got very tempted until I saw that they don't have any single bed quilts (I hate drape over the side bedding).

So, crap on the cookies but whew on the quilt!

I had these crackers w/ craisins in them in Amsterdam, or even just these bran crackers in Venezuela... Nothing in the US compares, and you do spend the rest of your life hoping and looking for it!

I can't find the orange cookies on the company website, but they have other flavor shortbread cookies. It's an Italian website, but Google translates it nicely to English. Welp, you've stumped me on those cookies. I tried all my local imported food retailers and none had them. I did not check Big John's PFI; maybe give them a call?

If you want a slightly different experience, check out Bavarian Meats in Pike Place Market. They have a great selection of imported (mostly, but not exclusively, German) treats both savory and sweet, and your chance of being able to repurchase is much higher. They have these yummy-looking apple-filled cookies that I'm going to try on Wednesday. There's also DeLaurenti for Italian things (though not your cookies; I checked), but their prices are much higher.

Oh Crap! I was hoping DeLaurenti's would come through and had planned on checking... so thanks for doing that footwork. Big John's is a good idea. I may pop over there tomorrow.

Ok, Big John's was a fail for these cookies BUT they had savory 6" tart shells (quick quiche) and a lovely selection of interesting cookie alternatives so totally worth the look-see. Thanks!
