I think we may have the needed forms faxed to IDS!  At least they say they faxed them.  IDS fax system isn't instant so I'll wait until this afternoon or tomorrow to call for confirmation.  But we could be off the hook for the next 11 months!

I have book recommendations on my website.  Periodically, I get emails from authors.  Usually, they are thank you notes from authors who's work I've loved.  Sometimes I get emails from authors whose books I have not read. 

I got one of those this morning.  It was a rather long and not very well written email explaining that his lastest novel was one I would love - a historical mystery that does not depend on forensics.  Since the more than 600 books now in my database of recommendations deal with modern day (with a handful set in the future) mysteries solved mostly by using forensics, I am amused that he would think I would all of a sudden love the opposite.  The note also spent a paragraph bragging about his website. 

He did not include a URL and his email address is one of a general ISP.  Way to market, dude.

I have one project that has a giant piece due today.  It's first on my hit parade today.  All of the projects I am working on right now are for various different groups at Microsoft.  Microsoft is closed tomorrow and Monday.  One of the projects is a meaty one that needs to be completed by the end of the year and I have all I need to complete it - it will be a nice thing to work on here and there over the next week.  Kind of a vacation with pay.

Someone needs to clean this house.  All of the surfaces need to be dusted.  And shit needs to be put away.   Tomorrow at the latest.  I'm going to start at the front door and work to the terrace - dusting and putting away.  Then I'll set Roomba to work and be done.
