A lovely rut

This entry is pretty much like ones from most of December. 

The construction crews are working to repair the condos that had rain in the living room.  Mine has really dried out.  The carpet is dry.  The paint isn't bubbled any more.  They will get to me when they get to me but, it's all cool.

Work is good.  I have plenty to keep me busy for now.  I worry a little about what will keep me busy next week but so far, they've managed to keep me occupied with billable hours.

I finally got confirmation today that IDS received the paperwork from Mom's 'home'.  They also promised to stop sending stuff to Mom and send it to me instead.  I'm gearing up for next year. 

Minutes after I hung up the phone, I got an email from the trust people who pay Mom's bills.  No cable bill.  Would I please call Comcast.  I did.  They had the address wrong.  They promised to fix it and fax a copy of the bill to the trust people.

Jake has taken on a new personality - again.  The cat is now 17 years old.  I think he misread the instruction sheet and thought that 9 lives meant 9 personalities.  He used to sleep with me.  Now I have no idea where he sleeps. He used to spend the mornings on the bed napping. No more. He loves under the desk.  It's dark and warmed by the computer.  But, half the time he spends on top of the desk and lately has been chewing my papers.  Chewing.  Like a freakin' dog!  He hasn't killed any yet, jut mangled the corners of stuff.  What in the world is that?

The other night I had a piece of banana bread wrapped in plastic on the counter.  In the morning I found it nearly knarled to death on the floor.  Crumbs everywhere.  I have no evidence I can take to court but Betty would not touch people food if it was the last food available.

I know this isn't much of an entry but I need to get back to work.  Later...
