Jake came out from under the desk tonight and I decided to stick a flashlight in there and see if I needed to do any kitty hair removal.  Nope.  But, apparently, he threw up down there some time ago - all over the power strip and cords and plugs... nice.  And dried and ick.

I've been thinking I should get under there and organize the hardware a bit better.  Now I think probably sooner than later... Although apparently dried kitty vomit does not cause immediate hardware malfunction.

Something to remember when you're writing your book of home-office computing tips.

But maybe it could cause a problem at the time it is wet and slimey.

Interestingly, apparently neither does kitty pee. Long story short, my dad's cat has taken to going under their computer desk. This is the same cat that seems to have given us (the people, not our cats) fleas over the Christmas holiday. No fun. :-(

I've actually gotten very good at not noticing that Sam has vomited until it has dried up. It's a lot easier to clean then. "Oh, Sam threw up? How awful! I'll get right on that." ... three days later ... Rightrightrightrightright...
