About a week ago, I started trying to find a solution to pattern storage. The copy paper tape ups don't lend themselves to a lot of folding so I'm rolling them but then what. They are tall - like a yard tall. I went to Home Depot to see if I could find something to keep them in and the closest they had was a cement form but it had no bottom and I had no way to cut it down from its too tall-ness. I stopped in a packaging store but no joy.

I trolled Amazon. I could buy a pack of 25 boxes that would work but I only want 1. Otherwise, I could pay $30+ bucks for stuff that is too big, too bulky or just wouldn't work for a variety of reasons. So the hunt continues.

Meanwhile I ordered something else from Amazon that arrived today... in a box that is perfect!!

Ha! I also tried out my idea of a woven cotton shirt with knit sleeves (it's on the ironing board in the background of that picture). I think it's going to work out fine. And I got some organizing done. Several of the shirts I made last summer now look kind of sloppy since I didn't have my technique down. But, I discovered that there is enough fabric there to make sleeves that I can pair with other fabric. Recycle!

I'm done for today, though. Time for some TV and knitting.

It's like buying a toy for a kid and they only play with the box. Ha!

Could you get a set of the shallow drawers that they use for storing drawings and maps at museums? That's what people use for blueprints and I'd think patterns could be laid flat in them.
