I was coming home back over the bridge from the pool this morning when I spied the traffic alert sign saying there was an event at the stadium at 12:40. ???? Oh Geez! The Mariner game today is a matinee! Well, that mixes things up a bit.

I had planned on a Costco trip today. Outside walk (I park in the farthest spot from the door), inside walk (up and down the aisles in air conditioning) and to test out one of their new hamburgers. But I may rethink or I may go early. Costco is on the other side of the stadium from here so I could get trapped in game traffic but, it's Philadelphia who suck more than we do plus are in the other league that no one cares about and it's a Tuesday afternoon. I'm thinking not that much traffic so I might go anyway. Worst case, I sit in traffic. No biggie.

Somehow I have hurt my hand. Knitting injury? Crochet injury? Sleeping injury? Amazing all the benign ways I can hurt myself. It actually feels better now, it was really bothering me while I was swimming. Maybe I just slept on it wrong.

Latest Duncan Hines Perfect Size for 1 trial - corn muffin. Excellent. I nuked about a tablespoon of bacon bits and then nuked the muffin. Delish. 1 min 30 secs to make it plus coffee. May well be my goto breakfast for a while. Interestingly, Walmart has a much wider selection of these cake mixes at cheaper prices than Amazon. Their $35 free 2-day shipping has caused me to do more Walmart shopping to try out the various flavors (and there are a bunch). I toss in thread, and cat food and other small stuff that I normally buy at Amazon. It's been an interesting experience. Not as smooth or seamless as Amazon but not bad at all. Interesting.

My fancy new Echo comes today and I'm jazzed. The reviews are all about how invasive it is. It steals your privacy! OMG and it's useless! And ridiculous and ugly. I'm glad Amazon has me. I'm happy to have someone listening in - Hi Putin!! It maybe useless to some but not to me. Alexa, how do you spell serendipitously delightful? I'm going to have to find new homes for my orginal echos. I'll probably just put up a for sale sign on the bulletin board in the garage.

Yeah for new gadgets!

Ah ... the Philadelphia Phillies. Another team fighting not to be at the bottom rung of their league....! Despite their consistently flawed seasons, the fans are incredibly loyal. And, on the off chance of a winning season - the last one being 2008, I believe, they go crazy! (the one before that was in the 80s, and the one before that was -- almost before my time!)

Yeah - Play Ball! But, the traffic won't be at it's worst. :)

2008??? That's modern times. The last time the Mariners were even in the playoffs was 2001. Now who's the biggest loser???!!

Plus they beat us handily last night.

It's not easy being a Mariner fan.

True ... it is modern times - almost 10 years ago. And, 2001 playoffs were right after 9/11 which probably put a damper on things. However 10 years feels "shorter" in duration than earlier in one's life. I remember 2008 clearly. That's when my mom and sisters totally lost their minds to the winning season! Loyal fans - through thick and thin - are the best. :)

As a cake lover I've been trying all the new DH Perfect For 1 cakes and so far the only one I haven't enjoyed is the lemon, and that's because to me the lemon tastes very artificial.

I added Reese's Miniatures to both the chocolate and strawberry and loved it. :)

So far the only ones I've gotten my hands on yet are Banana Nut (excellent) and Caramel Cake (almost too sweet but excellent with vanilla ice cream) and the corn muffins. I have a bunch of others on order but they haven't gotten here yet.

These things are just genius. Duncan rocks.

I haven't tried the Duncan muffin.I steer away from any breads or muffins made in the micro wave.it seems like they always come out doughy or tuff.But I guees I'll have to try them see how they work out.
