My gym is supposed to open at 8 am on weekends. On Sundays (and sometimes on Saturdays) they often have a difficult time making that happen. Last Sunday, we had a new guy who opened 5 minutes early and was cheery about it. (Usually, the closest we get to a greeting when we finally do get in is a grunt.) This morning, we were back to our usual. There were about 20 of us waiting on the sidewalk when they finally opened at 8:15. I've been going to this gym since they opened 3 years ago and the story has been the same. Opening at the designated time is just a little beyond their capabilities.

I need to learn to be grateful for a pool 11 miles from my house that I don't have to pay for.

Last night I kept having little dreamlets about my sister and waking up. This morning, before the baseball game, I took a little nap and had a dream about my sister. My sister and I have not spoken in well over a decade. After years and years of trying and failing to get along with her, after my parents died, I decided that having her in my life was toxic and I carved her out. (Which, apparently, was fine with her.) I have no clue what this dream shit is about but it had better stop. It's not how I want to spend my sleep!

I have lots of sewing chores on my list but then I happened on the cutest elephant pattern. I had to sew one up.



Now I'm watching the game. We won last night in a very fun game with a walkoff in the 10th. Today we're being hammered by their stupid home runs. 3 so far here in the 4th.

Tomorrow is the day they are coming to replace my kitchen counter top. I'm so not looking forward to the process but it will be nice to get it over with.

Wow - I don't understand people who don't respect other's time. I remember at an old job where a coworker did not make it to work at the scheduled 730am. There were parents waiting to drop off their kids so they could be at work ASAP, and no one was there to open the building. When my manager had to drive from two cities away in rush hour traffic to open... she was quite unhappy.

Oops. Also meant to say that elephant is great!

i wish you and your sister weren't estranged. i'm like that with my sister. it is a source of sadness cuz someday i will be dead and i don't wanna die without knowing my sister and her nuclear family.

My sister and I had more than 50 years to sort out our differences and just never could. I'm very happy not to have to try any more.

BUT that's my decision on my terms. Yours sounds much different as it's not what you want. That's very tough.
