the usual bits du jour
Jan. 14th, 2006 11:09 amFirst of all I need to apologize to Fed Express. It won't be a full frontal apology. I'm still scared from last week but...
My counter stool was listed on the Fed Ex website as being out for delivery today. Right. #1 who says they now have my address correct??? #2 there's a bit of a football game going on in my 'hood today attracting about 40 bazillion people. PERFECT excuse for a no show, not that Fed Ex needs one.
But, lo! 10 a.m. I got an email saying it had been delivered! (I always sign up on their web page for them to send me an email notice of change in status and delivery - this is the first time I've ever gotten one.)
So we did. She had it all organized and she just went down the pile and asked me about every bit - most of it was 'you can toss.' The rest was easily taken care of. She said Mom seemed very relieved to see the pile of paper leave her room. This is going to be a good way to do stuff.
She said that Mom was doing well but still had a long way to go. She'll be in a sling yet for three more weeks. This means sitters for three more weeks at least. I don't quite know how she feels about that. At least the ones she has now are good ones that she likes.
The 'hood is a sea of Seahawks blue. When I went down to get the counter stool, the elevator was stuffed with revelers. I'm watching the front door now and there are obviously a fair number of football parties going on. I'll betcha it would not be difficult to cop some natchos on any floor in this building today...

I'm not much of a baseball fan, but I love my Redskins! ;)
