First of all I need to apologize to Fed Express.  It won't be a full frontal apology.  I'm still scared from last week but...

My counter stool was listed on the Fed Ex website as being out for delivery today.  Right.  #1 who says they now have my address correct???  #2 there's a bit of a football game going on in my 'hood today attracting about 40 bazillion people.  PERFECT excuse for a no show, not that Fed Ex needs one.

But, lo!  10 a.m. I got an email saying it had been delivered!  (I always sign up on their web page for them to send me an email notice of change in status and delivery - this is the first time I've ever gotten one.)

And the stool is perfect.  It looks great and is the perfect height.  I may get a second one but maybe not.  I only have one ass.  It's big but not big enough yet for two stools.  I am delighted with the thing.

Not so delighted with that cute little toaster/egg cooker thing.  I'm very pissed at the company, actually.  I called again yesterday - still no freakin' joy.  I cannot poach eggs - unless I like them with flakes of teflon... So, I took advantage of Amazon's review process to share my pain.  Interesting that none of the other reviewers had the poaching cup problem - the last few calls I've made to the company, the women who answered have admitted that the problem is wide spread.  The 800 number is probably a huge gag and I'm calling some April Fool's phone scamming place.

Polly called with a Mom update.  I had talked to her about maybe once a week going in and getting all of the mail that had accumulated and going through it to make sure nothing was slipping through the cracks.  We decided we'd start that after Mom got better.  But, she said that she was there yesterday and Mom expressed some concern about the accumulation of stuff so they started going through it and Mom kept saying 'ask Susan about that one' so she just took everything with her and told Mom she'd call me and we'd figure it out.

So we did.  She had it all organized and she just went down the pile and asked me about every bit - most of it was 'you can toss.'  The rest was easily taken care of.  She said Mom seemed very relieved to see the pile of paper leave her room.  This is going to be a good way to do stuff.

She said that Mom was doing well but still had a long way to go.  She'll be in a sling yet for three more weeks.  This means sitters for three more weeks at least.  I don't quite know how she feels about that.  At least the ones she has now are good ones that she likes.

The Seahawks RV with boat guy showed up sometime between 11 pm last night and 4 am this morning.  Whew.

The 'hood is a sea of Seahawks blue.  When I went down to get the counter stool, the elevator was stuffed with revelers.  I'm watching the front door now and there are obviously a fair number of football parties going on.  I'll betcha it would not be difficult to cop some natchos on any floor in this building today...

I did get an email from my boss this morning - it was about the billable hours of a project.  I had asked him a question.  His response was worth noting because #1 he read and responded to my email and #2 the tone of his note was very different than the tone he normally uses.  This tone was much better.  Maybe...

Oh, how I would love to have the view from your balcony.

I was wondering this morning if you're view included the Seahawks today!

I'm not much of a baseball fan, but I love my Redskins! ;)
