Can you see me now?
Jan. 20th, 2006 03:03 pmI've had trouble getting adjusted to these new contacts. In order to make my long distance vision better, I had to sacrifice some of my short distance vision. And, my nice eye doctor really made me promise to change lenses twice a month and not make one set last forever. So, my rule is, every payday, I slap in a new set.
When you only wear one lens like I have for the past few years, it is real easy to keep straight. But now I wear two and they are different from each other and I haven't quite cracked how you even can tell which one is which since the difference is only indicated by the tiniest numbers that I can barely read when I have them in and don't have a prayer of seeing while trying to figure out which one goes in which eye.
Why in the hell would the contact lens people make those numbers so tiny? Do they not understand why you would even need their freakin' product????
I noticed all day that it was a bitch to see anything. More of a fight than usual. And it was pissing me off. Finally about 2, I decided that at least the one - short distance eye was just wrong. So I took it out and got out a net new one and put it in. YES! I checked the trash and I did not really even mix them up. I think I just got a bad lens. I didn't really think that was possible but now I do. And now I can see. Whew.

Date: 2006-01-20 11:57 pm (UTC)My problem is not so much remembering but being totally too cheap to toss out perfectly functioning lenses. I asked her about those 30 day things and she would not even discuss them. Not for me I guess.

Just a thought - plus you'll have the added entertainment of watching people look at your 2 different colored eyes and look very very confused...something I can see you enjoying.
