Kieran and Alan are always popping somewhere for the day or weekend.  Last week it was Vancouver.  I never know they are going but Kieran often sends me post cards which are fun.  This morning he sent an email that they bought me a surprise back from Vancouver and was I going to be here between 11-12 so they could drop it by.  They call and I run downstairs so they don't have to find parking. I replied right away and said yes - I'd be here and ready.

By about 12:30 I had heard nothing.  I kind of wanted lunch but didn't want to get into the middle of it and have to split and have Jake take over.  I wanted to get the mail but that was not good either since I didn't know what phone they would use.

1:30 I get an email saying that I didn't answer his email fast enough and when they didn't hear they went on with their errands... how about Monday?!

I had no where to go.  Holding off lunch and not getting the mail are neither one a big deal.  I answered his email this morning the minute I got it.  I have no clue why he sent email and didn't call and I'm kind of annoyed. Having friends is really not that easy for me.  It really takes more patience and understanding that I generally have in my pocket.

Feh.

Me, too. I have very few long-term friends. I'm quite good at making acquaintances, but very bad at keeping friends. I will think about a longer post on this, but I understand [I think] your position.

It was maybe more convenient to send email, and he maybe sent it WAY before you got it due to server latency or something. Honestly, I wouldn't sweat it.

That is freakin annoying. I hate trusting e-mail to things that have an immediate need for just this reason. :( I don't get why a phone call wasn't in order, particularly if time is of the essence.
