The rest of the day...
Oct. 4th, 2017 05:36 pmSo, yes, my baseball is over but, last night, Twitter convinced me to find the Yankee/Minnesota game which I did and kind of watched on the computer while I was watching other stuff on TV.
I was going to watch it on TV, but....I discovered that the broadcasting arrangement for post season baseball was apparently conceived by a large committee, none of whom were sober at the time. It's incomprehensible and nuts. It's like the Where's Waldo of TV. It took me 10 minutes to find out which network had the game, then where on TiVo that channel was. TiVo got a new program database company this year. Searching MLB Baseball got me one game - a replay of some game from last July. NOTHING else. Searching Sports/Baseball got me less than that. I said a lot of one syllable words that rhymed with truck. Parts of the game, even on the computer, were excellent so I may get sucked back in... maybe.
Sewing was good. I've had this fabric around forever. I don't love it but I don't hate it. And now, in this top, I like it better than I did. It's very slinky and soft.

I did get out for enough of a walk to meet my step goals. So yeah me. And remembered to go to the ATM.
I need to remember to get everything ready to go from pool to car place tomorrow and maybe an extended car place stay. And there will be TV watching tonight.

Date: 2017-10-06 02:24 pm (UTC)I don't have a serger. I have used double needle work sometimes but on this one, I tried a new thread! Coats has a new Eloflex stretch thread. And I used it with simple straight stitches on the whole project! Soooooo easy peasy!
I did have to use a ball point needle. I had a universal one in the machine but it kept splitting and striping the thread. When I switched to ball point, issue disappeared. This stretch thread is pretty amazing. I'm getting ready to try it on a cotton knit next.
Had I not had the new thread, I would have used regular thread and a regular zigzag stitch. I set the zigzag so the it has not much zig or zag. It's more of a jog stitch. Kind of looks like a straight stitch that is drunk. I have used it on all kinds of stretchy fabric - cotton to swim suit spandex and it works great.
