A friend of mine said today that jobs are so hard to find here in the Northwest that even our snipers have to go east to get a decent job.

Sadly, my company has a few openings for really good people and we can't find any. We hardly get any resumes that don't have stupid errors and spelling mistakes. Of course, I'm guessing the sniper probably skipped that whole resume thing.

Hmm! what kind of openings do you have? I happen to know an excellent system administrator who would like to change jobs.

I know that we quit looking for a sales admin person because we just were wasting too much time interviewing idiots. I'm pretty sure if a great sales engineer walked in or a fabulous support person, they would at least get an interview. Oh and I think they are still trying to find someone who knows telephone systems as they interoperate with and support call centers. Twice now we've hired guys as contractors with the understanding that if they cut it, they could come on full time. Neither could cut it. It's really amazing to me. I have worked at companies who would hire anyone with a pulse so I'm glad we're picky. You'd just think that with unemployment at an all time high, our chances now would be better than ever.

Too bad. I don't know anyone who does sales --even one of the same caliber as the bunch you described in a different post
