Waiting...

I need Visual Studio.  They have a copy for me at the office.  I'm waiting now for someone to actually get in at the office and let me know they are there so I can whip over and pick it up.  I've done an awful lot of driving since I got this work at home job.  I'm going to have to get gas again soon.  Geesh.

Mom sounds stronger every day. This morning I called and we talked about 15 minutes.  Her voice was more strong and energetic than it has been in weeks.  But, about midway through the call, she dropped a couple of marbles.  I think she honestly forgot who she was talking to.  I think she figured it out again before we hung up but probably only got to 'one of my children' and not down to the specific one.

It is such a marvelous luxury to hear her be confused like that and know I do not have to worry about her and her safety or even her health.  The sitters' bills are mounting but 1) compared to what they would cost in Seattle, they are cheap and 2) thanks to Daddy's careful planning, she has the money and 3) it's so worth it!  Plus even if she didn't have the sitters, she's in a place where the mission is to take care of her.  It's a wonderful gift to give your children.

My tax reporting stuff is sure slow to come in this year.  I've gotten some but not all by any stretch.  Don't they have to get it to me by the end of January?

Because of the work they are still doing on the condo, they cut off our water yesterday from 9-4 and they promise to do it again today.  Turns out it's not a big deal except when I forget and flush the toilet.  The noise is a little disconcerting.

The annual condo meeting was Monday.  I did not go.  I quit going several years ago.  It's just too tedious.  I just don't like people who live in condos.  I've lived in 5 different ones in 5 different states since the early 80's and condo people are just annoying.  Not me, of course...  The company that manages our condo association put up a brief meeting report in the elevator yesterday.   My favorite line was:

"The progress and the challenges of the building envelop project were discussed at length and in detail."

Or translated:  The expected bitch fest did not disappoint.

My not going turns out to be yet another brilliant move on my part.

Guess I'll get some work work done while I wait for the office to tell me they are there...

I am too late, but fill the tub with water and use a bucket to flush.

Just another tip from 'Hurricane Alley'
