susandennisI don't have the yarn for my next sweater so I practiced my idea out on the leftovers from the last one. I changed the crochet to a different pattern and then tried out knitted ribbing. Worked way better than I expected. I used an 8 mm crochet hook and size 7 knitting needles. I think I'm going to use a size 8 knitting needle for the actual sweater but over all, pleased.
I did go to the goat petting zoo and it was fun. The wind was blowing and it was raining pretty sincerely but there were still tons of petters there. They had something like 20 goats ranging from pretty darned big to babies. It was cute.
Then I wandered over to the teriyaki place and got enough chicken for lunch and dinner or lunch and lunch, depends on how I feel at dinner time tonight.
I also finished up one of those pair of pants and did two loads of laundry. When I went to put the laundry away, I got energized and took all the old pants - the ones I've been wearing forever even though they look old and most of them no longer stay up easily - and put them in the Goodwill bin. The bin is now full. Again.
And I also have very few clothes in my closet now that I did not make. I probably will be donating those soon as I have no interest in wearing them. My me-made stuff fits better, has pockets and is more fun.
My brother and sister in law are coming to visit in January. I have room here for one person but two people just makes a visit not fun so we found a loft in the next block on AirBNB and after some back and forth with the host, we booked it. It's south of here (about half way to the baseball stadium) in a building that I never knew had apartments. I think it's going to work out fine. We also need to rent a car because again... my car is great for one more person. Two is a problem. This time, however, we are going to go regular rental. I'm still burned by my last Trulio experience.
Ooops there's the mail carrier (I can see him on my TV via the webcam). I've got two packages. Better go collect 'em.
